Do you have a passion for local news and community storytelling? Edinburgh Daily News (EDN) invites you to become a volunteer Street Reporter and help bring real, grassroots news to the people of Edinburgh.
As a Street Reporter, you will have the opportunity to:

- Contribute to ethical, responsible, and unbiased journalism.
- Strengthen local democracy by holding authorities accountable.

- Become a recognised voice and representative of your local area.
How to Become an EDN Street Reporter?
No prior journalism experience is required, but all our reporters must first complete the Street Journalism Training Programme. This online, self-paced course provides the essential skills needed to report accurately, ethically, and effectively.
About the Training Programme
- Learn the fundamentals of journalism, from writing news stories to ethical reporting.
- Develop skills in mobile journalism, interviewing, and digital storytelling.
- Gain hands-on experience through practical assignments and mentorship.
- Receive an ELT Street Journalism Certificate upon completion.
